Binding Our Topknot

To the next generation of descendants of our ancestors and there are many of us - those who choose our ancestral way - I wish to start a new conversation.

It's time to bind.

It's time to bind the ancestral future we promised.

Fought for by our ancients. Our ancestors. Our elders. Our parents. Our guardians. Our families. Ourselves. Our children. Our grandchildren.

It's time to bind the strands of our topknot to make our head sacred again. Ancestral sacred.

What does this mean?

It means this. You know how we want ancestral more? Our people's way. Our old people. To be masters of our own universe. Our logics and rationales. Our sacred and noa. Our way.

Because it fills us. Our together.

Because we know at the tip of our nose that our ancestors' us together is our us apart. And we know intuitively that our apart is not good for us. It makes us ill. Sick. All kinds of ill.

It keeps us individual me myself I.

Which is our separation. As in the creation story.

And we want to be collective me myself us. Because it’s better for us. It makes us better. All of us. Ancient. Everywhere.

Collective-self intelligence – me myself us aware. Which trumps individual-self intelligence – me myself I aware.

It's a real dream. In our DNA. We know this. We want this. Ancestral.

But we figure we don't have the means to make it real.

That's the bind I'm talking about. The bind of our individual strands into our collective topknot.

What this deliberately-bound-topknot-of-all-our-strands does is bring us together.

But not just any old together. It’s our very best together.

Where we bring our aroha together.

Which we use with sacred intent for our collective benefit.

We can’t do this right now because our sacred is missing. Our ancients hid her in plain sight until we’re ready. We’re ready now.

Without our sacred we cannot see our beauty. Our sacred makes our collective. Our beauty is our together.

It gets to be sacred because of the special effort required to be beautiful. All at once. Together.

It gets to be sacred because collective together is a behaviour. It’s our best behaviour.

It is our science. It’s the behaviour of aroha – watching, listening, multisensory, filling, completing. In your own way. Your choice.

Fulfilling the single requirement of ancestral thriving – love aroha.

It feeds mauri life-force-connection. Which makes us ora sun-healthy. Mana how much aroha you have is its dominion. Tapu what you do with that aroha is its reverence.

Mana and Tapu. Dominion with reverence.

The ancestral way. Choice.

Your own unique way.

Freedom. Of choice.

Your experience.

Of life’s purpose. To grow aroha.

All at once. Holistic.

The behaviour of filling space, the distance between us, with aroha so that time which measures where we are stops.

We are everywhere. Ancient is space not time.

This is your personal experience of the greatest thing about us. Our aroha. And how we grow it. Apart. Deliberately. As individuals.

So we can bring it together. Deliberately. As individuals. To make our collective.

To make us better.
