TIM POWELL (Autism/Behaviour Specialist/Managing Director) PGradDipSocSci (Waikato), BSocSci (Hons), CertTchIH Ahorangi Consultants & Services, Nelson, NZ Tim Powell has spent over twenty years working professionally with people who have a range of disabilities, their families/whanau and with many services that support these people. During this time he has worked as both a hands on practitioner and advising consultant.  He has experienced working with a wide range of individuals, communities and organisations within New Zealand and overseas. His particular interest has been with people with Autism and has been intensively involved in training programmes research and service development. Ahorangi Consultants & Services was formed by Tim to allow in house expertise, and the knowledge available from the network of other specialists, to be delivered to the people with disability, in the most effective manner. Tim’s freetime sees him enjoying his passion for photography and active outdoor pursuits and travel in New Zealand and abroad and spending time with his family and friends.

PAULA TODD (Education Consultant) BEd (Otago), Dip TchECE, PGCertChls (Otago) Ahorangi Consultants & Services, Nelson, NZ Paula Todd has worked in a range of professional early childhood education settings for over twenty years and this has included work as a nurse (Intellectual Disability), teacher, lecturer, mentor and advisor.   During this time her teaching has always included a focus on special education and early intervention. Her recent work has included professional roles in lecturing for teacher education programmes on inclusive education and working closely with children and their families in a range of early childhood environments within New Zealand. Paula has been a lecturer with Christchurch College of Education; Programme Coordinator/Tutor in early childhood programmes at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic; Lecturer in Diploma of Teaching ECE at Waiariki Institute of Technology; Centre Manger YMCA Early Childhood Centre, and Centre Director of Topkidz Centres Tauranga. The current project being worked on is to develop private education/after school services in the Nelson region and also works with Ahorangi Consultants & Services advising on early intervention and early childhood initiatives. When not working, Paula enjoys reading, poetry, writing, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
